Datakom took part in a business mission to Japan organised by LIAA, gaining valuable insights into the Japanese market and presenting the Tiki-Taka AirPAY solution at key technology and startup events. The mission supported international growth, new partnerships, and strengthened the company’s global ambitions.

The past week was not only special — it was a transformative experience that marked a new milestone in the development of Tiki-Taka AirPAY.

Together with other Latvian companies, I had the opportunity to take part in a trade mission to Japan organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) — #MissionLatvia. This was more than a business visit. It was a strategic entry into a new market where innovation, respect, and sustainability are core business values.

SushiTech 2025: A Gateway to Asia

The central event of the mission was participation in SushiTech 2025, one of Asia’s largest technology exhibitions. LIAA ensured strong representation of Latvian companies by:

Actively engaging potential Japanese partners and connecting them with us
Providing professional interpreters to support clear communication and build trust
Creating opportunities to present the Tiki-Taka AirPAY story, demonstrate the product, and understand local market needs

This synergy between Latvian innovation and the Japanese technology ecosystem resulted in valuable contacts, potential cooperation paths, and a solid foundation for future partnerships.

WorldExpo 2025 Preview: Global Inspiration

In addition to the exhibition, we visited a preview of WorldExpo 2025, gaining inspiration for global thinking and sustainable business development. This experience helped us view our product more broadly — as a solution that can create value not only in Latvia and Europe, but also in Asia, the Americas, and beyond.

Startup Pitch in Kobe: Tiki-Taka AirPAY in Focus

The mission concluded in Kobe, where companies had the opportunity to present their solutions at a startup pitch event. I introduced Tiki-Taka AirPAY to Japanese entrepreneurs and innovation ecosystem representatives — our universal POS system that combines payment processing, sales management, and real-time reporting in one compact solution.

Key strengths highlighted included:

Scalability for international projects
Strong suitability for the aviation and logistics sectors, where speed, mobility, and reliability are critical

This was an excellent opportunity to test our value proposition in the Japanese market and confirm genuine interest.

WorldExpo2025 un #MissionLatvia

SIA Datakom, as a member of the Latvian IT Cluster and its cooperation network, has signed an agreement to participate in Project No. 5.1.1.2.i.0/3/24/A/CFLA/010 “Cluster support for the internationalisation and development of the ICT sector”.

The project aims to increase private investment in research and development through targeted public funding, supporting the creation of new products and technologies and the transfer of knowledge into the economy.
